About Driven

A Little Bit About Us

Driven was established in 2018 to provide a charitable door to door transport scheme supporting vulnerable and isolated people in the Wigan Borough.

Driven acts as a conduit to connect people with their families, day care provision, other 3rd sector/ community events, medical appointments, shopping trips and leisure activities.

Driven helps to provide essential transport solutions for passengers who don’t have access to a car and are unable to travel on public transport.

Our drivers are happy to wait with people at medical appointments and will accompany passengers on shopping trips.

The passengers contribute to the volunteer’s expenses, covering fuel and running costs and we always try to keep the same driver with the passengers so they can build a friendship together to promote community cohesion.

Working with our funding partners we remove barriers to social inclusion and support them to get out of their homes and engage in the exciting and stimulating activities provided by some brilliant projects across our communities.

We also have a 16 seater minibus available at very reasonable rates, for community groups to use to carry their passengers to activities and outings - please contact us for more details.
